Double NAT and IP address groups

Main Router (With Wi-Fi switched off) has Ip address of, say, 192.168.2.1 and has provided attached Router X an Ip address of 192.168.2.2

Assuming main router will not use it's ethernet ports except to connect to Router X, can the Router X provide Ip addresses in the range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254?

This makes things easier by not having to reset all attached devices.

Thanks! That will make life much easier if I, for some reason, cannot connect the Router X directly to the ONT.
