Hi everyone,
Not a network expert by any means here, so please bear with me.
When our company ran out of desk space in our head office, they rented a small building in a housing community next door for additional staff. Rather than put an expensive fiberoptic cable between head office and this building, we decided to put 2 ADSL lines in which combined gives us enough bandwidth. We can use VPN to access our systems so no issues.
However, those 2 ADSL lines are currently connecting to 2 separate WIFI modem/routers (Zyxel P660HN-T1A). To get a single WiFi network going we purchased an RT-AC68U which should allow us to use the dual WAN function.
Unfortunately, for the past 2 days I've been trying to get the second WAN going, but to no avail. Whatever I do it refuses to connect and give me a WAN IP. The modems are identical, and I've tried each individual one on the WAN port as primary WAN and they both work. Both modems refuse to connect as secondary WANs connected to LAN port 1. They're set to bridge mode with DHCP disabled. IP addresses are set to 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1 respectively to ensure there are no IP conflicts. Both are set to PPPoE in the ASUS configuration and have their own username and password. The ASUS is running stock firmware, latest version (3.0.0.4.376_1663). The modems have the latest firmware provided by the ISP, and the standard firmware from the modem manufacturer cannot be used so I guess that's the latest firmware as well.
I'm running out of ideas. The whole reason we bought this router, other than that I have it at home and love how fast and easy it is, was for this dual WAN function, so I'd be very annoyed if we can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
