Ethernet Port Anomoly

New Around Here
After having rearranged my computer room I have gone, for the first time, from having a single LAN ethernet connection in RT-AC88U to having 6 connections, using ports 1, 2, 3, 6, 7 & 8

The ASUS admin page shows only ports 1, 2 & 3 being in use, and 6, 7 & 8 unplugged, which they not. I am writing this on a PC connected to port 8.

I have checked the forum and cannot see anyone reporting anything similar, but it may be just that I am crap at searching. Upgraded to firmware 384.8 but made no difference.

Well known.
The RTK ports 5-8 reporting is hit n miss.
Better to look at Tools>Sys Info for half a chance of it being right (that even has a comment saying it’s flakey!)

Try turning it off, power off fully, leave it a minute and then boot up again.
Maybe once a year my 88U will loose the plot entirely on those 4 ports and a reboot doesn’t even fix it, has to be a cold start (another known issue!).
