Hey folks,
I have an RT AX86U Pro router (Firmware 3006.102.5) and a 50ft Cat 6 Ethernet cable connection between router and PC. The ports started acting up (frequent drops from 1000 to 100 Mbps). I switched from Port 1 to Port 2 and experiencing the same thing. Disabled power saving features, forced 1 Gbps Full Duplex for the Ethernet Controller under Device Manager. I also ordered a new Cat 7 cable just in case but I did experience this exact same thing with my NAS and a different cable which I use for the NAS. Currently only one port is in use. The wi-fi is fine and stable but obviously not related. Any ideas? Should I RMA it if the new cable doesn't solve it? Router is one year old but believe warranty is two years. Here are some entries from the System Log. I did try a few Putty commands (per ChatGPT) but they didn't seem to work w/ Merlin (e.g. bash, robocfg show, et status eth1, bcmswitch dump, etc.). I also do get internet interruptions when the drops happen (last betw 30-90 secs). Thanks!
P.S. How do I confirm it's a hardware and not a firmware issue (after trying a new cable)?
