Extend RT-N66U with Airport Express?

Hi all.

I did a search and I got the impression an Airport Express will only extend wifi network by another Apple product?

Just want to confirm that or if anything has changed. I'm running Merlin 378.54_2 on RT-N66U.

My experience mixing Apple and regular equipment is / was not a good one.

The airport extreme I had at the time was a poor substitute of the now old RT-N66U, but with great RMerlin based current firmware.

The main problem was that if an issue came up with the Apple products, there was no ability to try different settings, you know, the walled garden effect. It either worked or not. That is not magical, it is annoying.
