figured out how to map the ports in the AX88U to cli config (Actual)

Hello,

So i have been struggling to figure out how to disable unused onboard ports but still have them to expand as necessary so i gamed the system.. i happen to have a Cisco Catalyst switch in my house and i turned on lldpd -c whieh enables CDP neighbor

port maps are as follows
Physical external = cli

Port 0 = WAN
Port 1 = eth4
Port 2 = eth3
Port 3 = eth2
Port 4 = eth1
Port 5 = eth5
Port 6 = eth5
Port 7 = eth5
Port 8 = eth5

So as a net-eng the way i read this is the first 4 ports are switched ethernet and the last 4 are shared. Whats even more interesting is the it advertises LLDP / CDP Notice its B W R S, but only ENABLED as B, R I also did not change the management IP it default advertised 127.0.0.1

That sounds about right. I'd speculate that would change if you put the router in "Access Point" or a "Media Bridge" mode (or possibly WDS).

Hoping you'd see the post.. I read a lot of replies before I joined... I'm trying to figure out how to shut down unused ports. I suspect eth5 will take out ports 5 - 8.

I suspect you're right regarding ports 5 to 8.

If you're looking for the equivalent of Cisco's config-subif/shutdown (i.e. physically turn off an interface) I think the closest would be:
