My ISP is BT(UK), and it seems that very occasionally my WAN/Gateway IPv6 address will change on it's own - the dynamic IPv4 address remaining unchanged. I'm using the Hurricane Electric DDNS service to keep my main domain pointed at the home network, but it looks like (I could be wrong here) the ddns-start script gets fired when the router detects an "inet addr" change in ppp0, and if update IPv6 is enabled also tries to pull the IPv6 WAN address from ppp0. At least here, and on the GT-AX6000 that IPv6 WAN address can't be pulled from ppp0, and so it just loops.
As I mentioned it appears to be a very occasional event, and is mostly mitigated by setting a force update to daily, but I'm wondering if there is a better/more elegant solution. I'm also aware this could be an issue with code from Asus which can't be modified.
