Flashing the ASUS RT-AX-86U

Just got the AX86U and made sure it worked then downloaded ASUS Merlin's latest firmware but it just shows "Please Wait, Applying Settings" for over an hour. Should only take less than 5 minutes. Never had a problem on other ASUS routers flashing to Merlin.
Any ideas?
