Currently I have a FTTC service from Plusnet, which connects to a DrayTek Vigor 130 modem and an ASUS RT-AX88U router. Can anyone tell me what my options will be once the FTTH service currently being installed in Worcester by City Fibre will be with respect to the equipment I shall need if I decide to go for this new service? At the moment, I have a cable running from the BT Master Socket by the front door to the top of the stairs, where the DrayTek modem is located. Then I have a short cable running from the modem to my ASUS router. How much of this would I be able to keep and what would need to be removed or replaced?
The provider I am currently looking at also states this on their web page: "CityFibre connections require VLAN ID 911 configuring on the WAN/ Internet port. You need to ensure that your router supports configuring a VLAN on the WAN/ Internet port. If you fail to set VLAN ID 911 on CityFibre connections, you will not be able to connect to the service."
