FTP does not see root directory

  • ATTENTION! As of November 1, 2020, you are not able to reply to threads 6 months after the thread is opened if there are more than 500 posts in the thread.

I insert NTFS-formatted USB drive with some files in the root directory. I want to enable FTP access to it, but it does not look like I can even give access to the root directory in router's UI, and when I open FTP client, I don't see those files. I have to create a directory ("thedir" in the screenshot below) and place them there. Is this expected?
