FTP or SSH Max password lenght?

I reflashed my AC87u firmware with the latest Alpha builds from the github and they everything seems to be working just fine - thanks.

I was using a weak password and ftp/ssh/web interface was working fine, anyway I wanted to change it to a more secure password - something like this for example:

38bd45f8e671c2b89b03b003edf22088

or

uUoeAIsHgCNYe9K5g+/DPG40JqyZPKgauLh4dGPW/v0=

When I change the password - I can log into the web interface just fine, but not ssh or ftp, so I need to go back to using a weaker password - and then everything works fine again. Is there a max password length or certain characters I can't use?

Ok - I found out it's 16 characters max - same at the router web interface, thanks.
