Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pad on Router Chip

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to ask how to use 'Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pad' on a broad-com chip in my router ?.
I cut the pad to size and then attached it to the bottom of the heat-sink and then applied gentle pressure to stick on to the router chip - the heat-sink is bigger than the chip itself - therefore the pad overlaps the chip ( see pic below ).
What I wanted to ask was is this okay ? - does the pad only conduct heat and not any current ? ( if it did conduct current that would worry me in relation to some of the thermal pad material dropping off and falling on to the circuit board itself). Should I be worried about anything ?.

I would have done the inverse - cut the pad to the size of the Broadcom chip, and then put the heatsink above...

Chip and heat-sink should be as close as possible, using pads or pastes only to fill the air gaps caused by surface irregularities. Pressure is good too, preferrably constant pressure to aid chip to heat-sink direct contact.

If the pad is thick, steadily compress the hell out of it.

I used Anti-Seize as my paste. Dunno if that is a good choice or not...

OP should be ok - it's non-conductive from what I can tell - quick note - it's basically a one-time deal, put it on, and it's basically there for the life of the product - trying to remove it could actually damage or remove the chip from the board...

Fujipoly tape normally comes in two thicknesses - 0.5mm, and 1.0mm - it doesn't compress much...
