Global Traffic Monitor not Working

Ryan Small

New Around Here
I am running build 380.65_4.

First of all I must say I really like Merlin firmware.

IP traffic monitoring is working perfectly. However, global traffic monitoring is not working at all (other than real time). So far I have tried;

-changing the location of the logs
-create or reset data files
-create or reset IPTraffic data files
-verify NAT acceleration is disabled
-checked log files to see if anything obvious shows up

My issue is identical to this thread but I have already tried without success the steps contained there; https://www.snbforums.com/threads/global-traffic-monitoring-not-working.37468/

Any other ideas?

I have one data file. Should I have two, one for global traffic and another for IP traffic?

I finally got it to work. Not sure what finally did it but i tried all of the following;

  • changing from RAM to Custom
  • Only enabling global, followed then by IP monitoring
  • Create or reset data files

All of the above toggled back/forth multilpe times. Eventually, i got it working. And to answer my own question I now have 2 data files in my log file location.

Yeah, I don't think it allows you to store the per IP address ones in RAM. Each reboot and you'd lose the info. Should be stored on a USB if you've got one. Format it EXT2.
