Google vs Time Warner DNS

I just discovered my network at home runs better using Google 8.8.8.8 DNS than Time Warner’s 209.18.47.61 DNS. My web windows seem more fluid using Google DNS. The funny thing is when I ping Time Warner’s DNS it has a lower ping time. Has everybody already figured this out?

Thanks for the Steve Gibson’s DNS test utility. It just proved what I knew to be true. Google’s DNS is faster than Time Warner’s DNS provided by my connection.
