Got an 87U I've got little use for so I wanted to toss LEDE on it just to monkey around yes, no wifi

I keep getting this crap message about new firmwares and Asus mollycoddling to the FCC or FTC so I can't flash it. I tried renaming it. Tried putting a custom rom on as well. Guess I'm gonna have to use a serial cable and write it to the flash myself? What exact command would I use to di that.

Did you put it into recovery mode and load the firmware through the CFE miniWeb Server?

No, but I could. Could I alternatively just copy the file to the device and flash it with a command from the serial connection?

No idea. It's just that the CFE miniWeb Server is the "standard" way of loading a pre-FCC firmware.

I'll give it a shot though for a wired only solution I think I'll probably go pfsense.
