It works good. But TP-Link SG105 or SG108 is better. GS305 is just a cost reduction cheap switch.

What is recommended from Netgear's unmanaged series?

I'm running 2 GS108 and 1 GS516v2 switches for years with no issues at all. They've seen multiple router changes and never gave any problems. The GS105 is the 5-ports version of the 8-ports SOHO-oriented switch (GS108). Most unmanaged switches are almost the same inside, so you can do little wrong regardless of brand.
