GT-BE98 PRO - Is there a new version?

Asus website has been showing Notify Me status for a while and Amazon shows out of stock for a while (except used ones on sale for now).

I was wondering if there is a new version of the Asus GT - BE 98 Pro coming? Any news?

This is a new router model. Not a new version (or H/W revision) of GT-BE98 Pro @net666 is asking about.

BE98 is currently on v2 from mid 2024 roughly. AFAIK, the BE98 PRO is still v1.

There are reports of 2.5, 2.7 with FCC but not released yet. AFC is in these.

I have to say I was skeptical for this purchase. I have been seeing the problems about MLO not working, setting up static ip problems, loT devices dropping etc. My experience is that this router is worth every penny. Hardware version is 2.0. I have about 48 devices connected. MLO network...

its really confusing. amazon reviews says hardware version is v2 and then goes ahead and says board version has changed from 1.0 to 1.1 to 1.2 as of march 2025.
is there anyway to know what month was this manufactured...nowadays it got more difficult to figure out based on the s/n or barcodes etc on the box.

The year of manufacture, and hardware version is easily identifiable on the packaging label.

the "B" in the name indicates new board..go figure...

lets see how many issues i have to deal with this now trying to set it up. I am upgrading from a 5300 model after 8 years.

very disappointing for a flashship router that costs an arm and a leg when their lower end and mid range models work perfectly. This makes me hesitant to buy any of their newer flagship models in the future.

Agree, I am in same boat. Wont spend that much money again. Asus need to up their game, Merlin can only work with the closed components they give him too, so he is limited in that respect too.
Bugs should have gone by now, far too long for a router. Introducing too many new models, many similar and that means resources spread thinly, especially when they get a sudden security update to do across them all.
