Guest Network Setup

New Around Here
Hi there,

I'm running my little home network with a Fritzbox 7490 as Internet Modem and primary Router / DHCP Server (192.168.2.x). Due to building limitations I have two separates Wifi Routers on the first and second floor of my house which are running as wireless access points. These two are running on Asuswrt 380.61.

When enabling the wireless guest network on the fritzbox it works as expected. Clients do get an IP Address from a different Range (192.168.1.x) and are cut off from the rest of the network.

When enabling guest network on one of the Asus Routers it doesn't have any effect at all (because of Access Point mode). Clients connected to the "guest network" still get IP-Adresses from the main network (192.168.2.x) and have access to all the other network ressources :-(

How do I setup things that all 3 Routers work in the Network of the fritzbox and can isolate guest networks on the two Asus Routers?

Thanks for any advice,
bigtreiber

You can't, as the APs don't handle routing - the Fritzbox does.

What If I set up the Routers as "Router"? How should the setup be?

It would only work if all your clients connected to that same router. Clients connected to the fritzbox or the other router/AP would still be reachable, as they would be located upstream from that router.
