Help accessing cameras with VPN

Router: ASUS RT-AX300, Merlin 386.1
VPN Server settings: Client will use VPN to access: "Both"

I have IP cams which I block from phoning home, by mac address under parental controls. Unfortunately this prevents me from viewing the IP cameras when VPN'ing into my home network . This used to work with Tomato. If i disable the parental controles, I can access the cameras. Any suggestions for a IPtables rule to allow the VPN 10.8.0.0/24 subnet to access these cams but still prevent them from phoning home?

Openvpn connect LAN host that is blocked in Time Scheduling

I blocked certain MAC devices from accessing Internet via AiProtection - Time Scheduling. Then I connect the LAN via OpenVPN. But I cannot access these devices. I can access other devices that are not listed in the blocking list. My guess is that any WAN related traffic through these devices is...
