Help required for ID-10-T Error in LG N2B1 NAS

Hello Gurus,

I just got the LG N2B1 nas with 1T drive. I was just getting to know it better and then i decided to change the admin password. I swear I had changed it to the password i use everytime, the most common password and very easy to remember. But suddenly i couldnt log back in. Classic ID10T error (i remember the days i worked for SBC, we used to call it ID10T coz this was the most people would call us with this issue) . I cant believe i entered some garbage password 2 times. I have tried all permutations and combinations but no luck. I called LG support and apparently it will take 1 week to get an RMA number and then i have to ship the NAS to them, they will re-initialize it and then send it back....a very lengthy process.

Does anyone know how i can factory reset/re-initialize/sneak into the NAS? Is there a back door i can use to log into the OS and reset the password?

Please help.

Cheers!!

I too would like to know how to get access to the linux within the N2B1.

I installed 2 1TB Samsung drives into our N2B1 and they were working just fine until yesterday when the 2nd (previously empty) drive suddently seemed to be a mirror of the first!

When I went into the web interface to check details, I got through the logon page and then pretty much nothing else as many of the .php files seemed to have dissapeared!

I did think abvout refreshing the firmware, but that page is disabled due to the firmware.php missing.

Vista is still also reporting bad space usage metrics for my NAS, so this may be related - I cannot/darenot trust it in its current condition.

I have emailed LGE support but from previous experience they were not very helpful.

If this cannot be resolved this week I will be sending it back under warranty for a full refund.

Sadly .. I cannot find ANY references anywhere as to how to get into the linux OS on this box :-(

Regards
Steve
