Higher delay when using wired connection?

Hi there! I use the Asus RT-AC66U, and when I play League of Legends I usually get around 38 ping. Today I put up a wired connection, and now I have 40?

It's not really much, but I dream of 20 ping one day

That is the ping to the server you're connecting to, correct?

This is out of your control. Unless you can get an extreme upgrade from your ISP.

some wired interfaces like marvell have higher latencies but it should be lower than wireless.

If your internet is being utilised more than latencies will increase or it could be the server.
