Higher latency when wired to RT-AC1200

New Around Here
I recently bought a new modem (Netgear CM400) and router (ASUS RT-AC1200).

I've been using pingtest and speedtest to test my setup, since I want to use it for online gaming.

Whenever my modem is directly connected to my PC, I'm able to get about 25ms ping to Los Angeles, 40ms ping to San Francisco, and about 33Mb DL/7Mb UL.

However, whenever I connect my router to my PC (wired, via ethernet), my ping with Los Angeles is ~50ms (which is a problem to me), but my ping to SF and my DL/UL speeds are about the same (maybe slightly worse, not sure).

I've turned off QoS, I've tried doing a factory reset via the router settings menu, and I'm not sure what else I can do aside from buying a new router. However, I feel like my router should be sufficient for the internet/modem I currently have (currently paying for 50Mb DL)
