Hi, I want to buy a NAS for home use, and I'm seriously confused by all the options out there. I've kinda narrowed down to Synology vs QNAP (yes, there are many threads on this subject on the forums, but I couldn't distill out what I wanted out of those), and here are my requirements:
- Must have atleast 4-5 drive bays
- Want to start with atleast 2TB, with option of going to (say) at-least 5 TB later
- Want encryption. I don't care too much if it's at file level or volume level, I can carve out a small volume for the encrypted stuff, as long as that volume can be dynamically extended in case I run out of space
- And of course, should be easy to setup, should be reliable, no-futz, backup should be easy.
- Price is not a super-high concern, but of course cheaper is always good
Thanks for advice & help!
