how to install "smbstatus", AC68u, _50beta?

Have installed Optware, and then installed nano (text editor) and htop (process viewer) successfully.

Am fairly sure RMerlin has installed the functional core of Samba 3.6.24. Anyone know the minimalist way to install and run the

smbstatus

program, without screwing up or conflicting with whatever parts of Samba 3.6.24 that Merlin has provided? Would like to use "smbstatus" command at Linux prompt, to, well, look at Samba connections (file shares) status. And really don't want to install anything else that is not needed to run the "smbstatus" program.

Since it gets compiled automatically when I rebuild the firmware, I simply took it off the build environment and uploaded it to Mediafire. Get it from the Misc folder:

well that was ridiculously easy. No need to install anything, just run "smbstatus"

Oops, my apology for not looking in that folder. Couldn't be easier to run the "smbstatus" program. Simply copied it to some folder of a usb hard drive, and cd'd to that folder at the Linux prompt, and typed ./smbstatus. Did not need to "install" Optware or anything. Oh well, at least have had fun getting nano and htop working.

RMerlin, how would you display the current Samba connection level from the BusyBox prompt? Straightforward from a Windows 8 client with the PowerShell get-smbconnection command. Analogous Linux command? Am getting a bit interested since Windows 8.1 client to _50beta Merlin firmware, no longer seems to be establishing Samba 2 connections on the 'AC68u.

No idea if it's possible, I just use the Powershell cmdlet.

Can you please share exactly how you got this to work? Like what command you needed to run etc? I would thank you 10 times over if you actually reply!
