How to partition bigger than 2TB disk with GPT and ext4

Like others have indicated, if you want an NAS, buy or build your own NAS. The router is not an NAS.

One may have to use a Linux boot disk/flash drive (for example Ubuntu) on their PC to properly; erase all existing partitions, reinitialize the USB drive to GPT, create the partitions and format them for EXT4 using Linux.

One may have to use the Drive Utilities from their drive manufacturer to change the drive's sleep time and disable any security features on the drive.
