On the LAN DHCP Server page, make sure these DNS Server 1 and 2 fields are blank:

Reboot your router and give it a few minutes to settle

A fine setup for sure, but since he was asking in a different thread where to configure DNS, I figured he wasn’t ready for the Advanced setup yet. :)
Yes I asked and decided to try to do it but had no clue if I did it right so I asked for some help.o_O:D

There’s lots of very interesting info on the cloud9 thread to do with quad9 and Cloudflare where further questions are probably better suited to that thread. Do search the forums for DNS over TLS when you have time, there’s lots to be learned there as well

Good luck setting up your router

Thanks you for all that info all good now. When I did the leak test it showed only 1 woodynet ISP where you show 2. is that right?

I had the same yesterday depending on wether I chose standard or extended, today both tests are showing 2 DNS servers

To setup QUAD9 on a Cisco RV340 router is real easy. You select the WAN on the Cisco menu. There is a pull down menu which says use these DNS servers, enter 9.9.9.9. Select Apply and save. You are done.

Then you want to use your Cisco router as your cache DNS server for clients so in DHCP server use your Cisco router IP as your DNS server.
