How to test Alpha, Beta Merlin firmware?

Are you guys flash Alpha firmware and wait until issues present, or there is a specific way to test them? As a newbie to this custom firmware world, how could I test and point issues, from where could I start?

Just use your router as you normally would. If you find something that doesn't work properly then report it in the appropriate thread. That's all.

If that is your normal use, then a report of any bugs (or not) would still be useful too.

Usually, I will also point out specific areas in need of testing when I release a beta firmware. In addition to day-to-day regular usage, it helps me if people can also test those specific areas.
