HP LX195 Speed Problems

Hi there,

i bougt a hp lx195 media server, configured it, and now i made some tests but i only get around 35MB/sec ( your test around 60 ) to read for a large file, I set mtu to 9000 and I use an imac, maybe i can get some speed increase?

Don't use jumbo frames. They can actually decrease performance in some cases.

Note also that the 60 Mbps is an average across file sizes from 32 MB to 4 GB. Looking at the detailed performance vs. file size curve shows performance dropping to ~ 50 MB/s for 512 MB filesize and up.

thanks for your answer but to which number i should set the mtu?
with jumboframes i get now around 50MB

Where are you setting MTU? If it is a setting that is independent of jumbo frames, set it to its default, which is usually 1500.

mtu 1500 is the best setting, I tried several things, but thats perfect
