See, now the funny part is I always get inferior speed test results on the router vs. my PC. I have a 2.5 connection from the router to the modem, and a 2.5 connection from the router to my PC. I just tried with all the Ai protection and traffic analyzer off, and on my PC I'll get 2.2+Gbps. The router's speed test, at the same server, won't break 300mbps.

I'd simply ignore the router speed test. IMO it is not reliable for this and that reason, mainly due to the CPU.
If you're getting reasonable result from connected devices, then you are golden.
If the connected devices are getting poor speeds, then you need to get a heftier router or give up on using features that cause the slowdown.

Oh, I'm aware the router speed test is essentially useless and I am ignoring it. I just thought it was interesting how off it really is.

Essentially, what I was asking in a roundabout way is if anyone had used a newer router than the RT-AX88U Pro and noticed the same things as I had regarding the overall slowdowns when using the traffic analyzer feature to see if it was worth the upgrade. I didn't know that functionality had such an impact of overall device throughput.

Just move the packet inspection/characterization to another small computer hanging off a switch that will replicate the packets to a second port. Then you never have to be bothered with loading up the router.

Up until not long ago, I had a wall of electronics and a Home Theater PC, I shrank that down and I'm trying to keep it there.
