Huawei B953 modem/router and RT-N66U

Hi!

Just got my self mobile broadband. Unfortunately my new modem can not be bridged so I've to use it as a modem & router, but the router really sucks big time :D so I want to use the eminent Dark Knight as router, however, i cant get the damn thing working.

How should I connect the modem/router (Huawei B593) to the RT? As I have several IP-cams connected to the RT and I do want them to be accessible from the Internet.

Any help would be appreciated!

I would connect the rt-n66u as an access point (AP). There's articles all over the internet on how to configure an AP. Essentially, you connect the ethernet coming from your modem/router to a LAN port, rather than the WAN port, and turn off the rt-n66u DCHP server, etc. Then you have the rt-n66u wireless and 3 LAN ports available to use for internet access.

However, you do lose some of the rt-n66u routing functions by doing that. Are you sure that you can't put your combined modem/router into bridge mode?

AP mode do reduce the functions of the asus to much as I use the dyndns ect. I was thinking if there is some other alternatives.
