Been a longtime lurker, figured it's time I bite the bullet and register for the forums...
So, I have been using my N66U for awhile now, generally very happy with the router.. However, I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing out on, in terms of performance, tweaks, etc.
I am using the stock firmware, could probably use an update as I'm a 'set it and forget it' kind of guy. But, recently I purchased a Synology NAS (DS413J), and am hoping to use it to stream media throughout my house, etc.
Having said that, I'm wondering if there is any sort of "N66U Bible" type thread that will kind of steer me in the right direction as to getting the most out of my router? I have read some threads that kind of lead me in one direction over another, but it gets quite overbearing when I read through all the hundreds of posts.
So, is anyone aware of any thread of that sort? I am hoping to get the most out of the router, and I'd imagine there are certain preferences that prove to be more beneficial than others.
I also have a D-Link gigabit switch that I will be using with the N66U. The switch will have the NAS, my PS3, and my lappy occasionally plugged in to it. We have a 3 floor apartment, and the unit does give me decent service up in my room on the 3rd floor. It will ideally act as a media server throughout the house, as well as a torrent downloader. The NAS has a torrent control function, and I also noticed that the router does too - in all honesty I'm not sure how that works, but anyway.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
