I'm looking for a desktop router with internal PSU

New Around Here
Hi, first, sorry for my english,
I'm laying ethernet cables all around my house and I need a router and a switch with internal PSU because I need to stick the electric plug in one of these things (err don't know the english name for it), I managed to find this Netgear switch, perfect for this reason, but I still can't find a SOHO router with this "feature".
Can you help me? Thanks.

The mikrotik CCR line has internal PSU and will handle gigabits worth of internet with all your QoS and firewall needs without needing to use hardware acceleration even though it does have it. The ubiquiti edgeoruter pro also has internal PSU but is full of limitations just to get it working nicely and isnt capable of line rate NAT, only up to 3Gb/s with hardware acceleration (so no QoS or firewall).

Thanks for your reply,
I'm searching for a home router, something "nice" that has to be in the living room, so no rack mountable beasts :D although I'd love to build one day a home lab with everything in a nice rack, but, this is not the case.
The whole reason for this is to not have those bulky DC plugs in full view, yeah I know, not a really techy reason.

To get the result you are looking for consider purchasing POE injectors to power a small desktop switch and home router. If you can keep the Ethernet cable distance less than 30 feet between where the power is injected for the devices and where the router and switch are located. Longer distances are possible but voltage drop becomes an issue. Ways to compensate and work around it, but it adds another level of complexity.

Making this work would require that you have Ethernet connections in the box that you attached a picture of.

A source for information and equipment for POE applications can be found here. wifi-texas.com

What if you just replaced the included wall-wart adapter with a brick-and-cord style unit of requisite current compatability and connector size (example of a 12V, 3A unit with a 5.5x2.1mm barrel connector) -- then just leave the brick next to the router and run the 3-sprong cord into the wall recess. Way less limiting on your router choices that way... Or am I missing something here?
Uh..didn't think about that at all.
Maybe the brick is thin enough to fit in the box I was talking about, it could be a much more practical solution, I could even keep my own router and save some money. Thanks

The power supply on my RCE-V2440 is high quality laptop style, as Trip mentions above... not a "wall wart".

It can be tough sometimes to find a brick+plug style adapter when looking for non-typical connector types and/or lower total watts, but be thorough in your searching and you'll probably come up with something, or share your current #s and connector type with us and we can help, too.

Tip/Ring barrel and specs - once sorted - check out Monoprice or Alibaba - there will be something there...
