Iomega PX6-300D CPU Fan replacement

I found an old review in these forums by Thiggins about opening the PX6-300d . I managed to get the screws out of the motherboard but it seems to be stuck . I can't get it out to remove the CPU fan. Please advise

Be gentle, but firm. Go slow. After a decade of heat and gunk accumulating and leaving a fine film or thicker on everything, things get stuck together surprisingly good. Just don't force anything to its breaking point.
