IP Reservations on Huawei Modem/Router

I have an HG8245 FTTH modem/router. I would like to set a few DHCP reservations, but this router does not seem to support them (at least not in the ways I've seen before).

First question: Does anyone know of a way to set IP reservations on this router?

Second question: If I just set my computer to use a static IP outside the router's DHCP range, without any changes on the router, would it serve the same purpose? I.e., would it work at all, and would I then be able to port forward to that static IP address?
