Is a double switch before a mesh node bad?

So I have a 3 node mesh network in my TH. The main node is in the basement (where the 1gigabit fios comes in). Then I have that node plugged into a 8 port 1 gigabit unmanged switch. Then there is an Ethernet run from that switch to my living room where its plugged into another 4 port 1 gigabit switch which is then plugged into a Desktop, a laptop, a tv and the 2nd Mesh Node.

Is that an issue or should I have run the Ethernet cable from the basement to the 2nd mesh node and then run a cable to the 2nd switch and then everything else. I just want to make sure I'm not degrading Node 2 at all by 2 Switches.

Thanks in advance.

Should not be an issue. Using unmanaged switches will not complicate things if you set up a guest network (guest network uses VLAN and unmanaged switches will pass the VLAN tag).
