The python package is on entware, but if I recall correctly it’s missing some dependencies. So the answer is, it depends on what you are planning to do with it.

IIRC, one of the potential problems with python is that it is somewhat memory intensive. With the smaller memory on the routers it could be an issue. The AC88 has a larger memory, but I'd still keep on eye on things, especially if you start having 'strange' problems.
