I really like my Asus router (RT‑AC66U) flashed with Merlin firmware but I can't seem to find a VPN service which offers a desktop application where I can quickly change servers and features "on the fly" without constantly logging into my router and manually adding new OVPN files. Does anyone know of a VPN service with such an application that will work with Merlin firmware?

Astrill VPN has a desktop application that allows you to select any one of their 200+ servers when you start it up. Application runs on your PC and not on your router so VPN is for the PC only. To change your server on the fly takes just seconds. Stop VPN, select new server from the list, start VPN.

I only have experience with PIA. Once I have the OpenVPN server set up on my router switching to a different server is as easy as stopping the service, pasting the new preferred server address into the address field and then reconnecting. No need to load ovpn files.
