Is Yorgi gone?

SNBForums is a community for everyone, no matter what their level of experience.

Please be tolerant and patient of others, especially newcomers. We are all here to share and learn!

Yorgi! Good to see you (and your cat) in print again, (I don't get by here enough either). Now you know much you're appreciated:)

And that's what's what makes the forums work so well, when everyone helps one another and shares info, so we can all learn and make our toys work as well as they can (and like we want) :)

384.5 should keep him busy, since I'm in the process of revising various aspect of the OpenVPN configuration.

Yea not much new things where happening on the open VPN section. but I am ready for anything you throw at me :)

lol i never get a have you seen System Error Message post when i go missing, though im sure that'd be filled with trolls of actual system error messages.

I prefer to think yorgi as his picture, it really matches the name well.

So far (this is just after a first pass at them, still have things left on the ToDO list:)

Code:
   - CHANGED: Revised OpenVPN server options:
o Removed "TLS Reneg time" (rarely used, can manually
be set as a custom option)
o Removed "Server Poll" (which didn't work
                properly)
o Removed "Push LAN" and "Redirect Gateway",
replaced with new Client Access setting
o Removed Firewall setting (firewall rules are now
always created, and the broken External mode
was fixed and integrated into the new Client
                Access setting)
o Removed option to respond to DNS queries - enabling
the option to Push DNS will also handle it
o Added new Client Access setting to select between
three types of access: LAN only, WAN only (will
block access to the LAN, including the router
                itself) and LAN + WAN.

   - CHANGED: Revised OpenVPN client options:
o Removed "Poll Interval" (which didn't work properly)
o Removed Firewall setting (firewall rules are now
                always created)
o Modified behaviour of Connection Retry. Instead
of taking a value in seconds that only affected
resolution failure, it now takes a number of attempts,
and affects connection failures. Resolution failures
will now retry for an infinite period of time (the
                default OpenVPN value).

System, we'll watch for your next prolonged absence and send you links to Yorgi's avatar so you'll know you're appreciated:) Cheers.

I have a router freed up and ready to test when the code is ready. I rely on OpenVPN Server for remote access to several sites. I also have the blog posts with the OpenVPN Client and Server setup instructions that will need updating.
