I am following instructions mention on this link:
http://support.smartdnsproxy.com/cu...ss-transparent-dns-proxy-with-a-dd-wrt-router
My RT-AC88U router (192.168.1.1) is connected to the Sky Hub (192.168.0.1) but Asus DHCP server is active. I am following the instructions as mentioned but every time I do this, Apple TV apps that are trying to access the internet (like HBO Now, Hulu) get a network error, as if something is blocking them. At the same time, other apps on Apple TV like Youtube, Trailers etc are working fine!
When I check Apple TV network settings I can see DNS settings as 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and 192.168.0.1
Is that correct? Should the Sky Hub address be there in the DNS? Is that the issue? But also when I manually set the DNS on Apple TV to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 the problems persists. I am at a loss as to why this doesn't work.
Can anyone help me diagnose the problem and get everything working again? I am open to other solutions, I just need to bypass Sky's transparent DNS to get my apps working again through SmartDNSProxy service. I'll be grateful!
