LACP on AC87

Thank you for help. But can you tell me why is there a "teaming port" written between port 1 and 2 backside of the switch ?

DISCLAIMER: this is my personal conclusion based on observations, and what I know of the situation. Asus's reasons for not implementing it might be different, but from my point of view, this is partly a technical issue.

I suspect there was a snafu. Asus initially planned on implementing it, so the router cases were printed with that label in place. However they did a mistake: they labeled port 1 and 2 for LACP, which cannot work, as port 1 is part of a different switch (a Realtek switch). So if they wanted to add LACP, they would have to use two different ports, and this would be VERY confusing to users, as it wouldn't match what's on the port labels. So, Asus probably decided then not to implement it, rather than face all the tech support inquiries about why it doesn't work properly after being enabled.

As far as I know, Asus NEVER advertised or announced that feature. The only hint that it was ever planned is what's printed on the label. It's not mentioned in the documentation, on the box, nor on their support site.

For now RT-AC87U only official supports WINDOWS 8.1 multichannel SAMBA

but all we know that also 802.3ad with this FW (beta fw, i have permission for share this)

ASUS@SG assured me that this feature will be added in the future, so we only can wait.
