LAN upload speed halved with ac88u?

When i was using dir-868l, i'm able to get up/down 900+ on lan

HW acc is shown as enabled
NAT acc is also enabled
Spanning-Tree Protocol enabled too, i have a gigabit switch
Qos disabled...

im using 380.62_1

I've disabled STP and i'm not using traffic monitoring & Qos, and i've even turned the firewall off to test, i'm not having Flow Acceleration?

I've read on http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wire...reless-ac3100-gigabit-router-reviewed?start=2 that the LAN-WAN speed should be able to go close to gigabit throughput, but somehow mine is like capped @ 600+, is there anything that i need to look out for? Or is it due to using stock f/w vs merlin? i like merlin features

Routing Performance
Routing throughput was measured using our standard router test process with the router loaded with3.0.0.4.380_858 firmware. Table 3 summarizes the results and includes the NETGEAR R8500 for comparison, since it uses the same Broadcom processor. The AC88U's 802 Mbps downlink (WAN-LAN) throughput bests the NETGEAR's by 40 Mbps while uplink is 20 Mbps lower than the NETGEAR. The ASUS lags behind the NETGEAR around 140 Mbps for the simultaneous up and downlink test.
