I bought a D-Link DWA-127 wireless USB adapter for Raspberry Pi to stream music to a living room, but the adapter seems to have a latency issue. If I ping from the adapter to RT-N66U, I get a constant latency:
9 packets transmitted, 9 received, 0% packet loss, time 8013ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.314/6.865/11.958/2.519 ms
But if I ping from RT-N66U to adapter, latencies are all over the place:
9 packets transmitted, 9 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 23.496/94.327/199.948 ms
This makes streaming, and actually any use difficult. Situation is the same if I use the adapter in my laptop. There are no other networks on a 2.4GHz channel I use, only my g and n devices. RT-N66U has a 3.0.0.4.374_168 fw.
Anyone seen this kind of uneven latencies? Any cure for this or is the adapter just a piece of crap?
