Lighttpd installation error

Hi am trying to install the above following this guide https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/Lighttpd-web-server-with-PHP-support-through-Entware

...but falling at the first hurdle getting this error:
"opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package php5-cgi"

Any suggestions? Many thanks!

The current version of PHP in Entware appears to be 8.1.7-2, so php8-cgi ?

It's on an Ax-88U running v386.8

Bump.

Now running 388.1, with all entware scripts fully updated and still unable to install php5-cgi via the opkg package manager

Anybody have any idea what is going wrong?

Am deeply ashamed to say I missed it! But just tried it now, and the package has certainly installed. Will finish setup and come back with any problems, but for now many thanks!

ok finally found to come back to this, and the issue is that some error in the default lighttpd.conf file is preventing the service from starting

Use a stripped down model as for example here https://redmine.lighttpd.net/projects/1/wiki/TutorialConfiguration

. . .then add back required modules and server directives, and the service will start
