looking at an e1200 for an apartment

New Around Here
I'm moving into an apartment for school and i'm looking at an e1200. not sure how congested the 2.4GHz spectrum will be, but I can assume it will be quite congested. My laptop does not have a 5GHz card, and that is really the only thing I will have wireless unless my friends want to hop on. I'm not doing much networking, I'm just sharing the internet connection to my ps3, xbox, and laptop. like most people, i enjoy being able to be wireless on my laptop to watch a netflix movie or something, but i'm not sure if 2.4GHz will provide a problem with this.

choosing among channels 1, 6 or 11 ideally, no doubt you'll find one that's fine. It's not the number of nearby WiFi devices (based on an SSID scan inventory), but rather, it's whether the one on/near your channel is habitually "busy". This means heavy bittorrent or video streaming.
