Looking for a mesh system with existing Asus GT-AX11000 Pro

Lamminium

New Around Here
Hi all,

I am moving into a new property that is about 300 sq metres. The FTTP box is in the garage and is some 20 - 22 metres away from further corner of the house where some of the bedrooms are located. The signal will need to penetrate 2 -3 walls, 2 - 3 doors and one wardrobe. I was told that the Asus GT-AX11000 Pro wouldn't cut it and I should look at a wireless mesh kit. Wired backhaul is not an option as wife is against it.

I have read about Amazon eero and TP Link Deco but I still prefer Asus (more features, I plan to use VLAN, no forced account sign-in, etc). For best compatibility and AIMesh performance and reliability, do I buy another GT-AX11000 Pro (will wait for a sale) or is there a more cost-effective tri-band WiFi6 router with similar hardware?

Thank you for your help.

XT9 or XT8 -> both triband however stuck on 3.0.0.4 firmware (yes, you can configure VLANs but without Guest Network PRO features)
XT12 -> triband mesh system with 3.0.0.6 firmware

I would personaly go with additional 2-pack of XT12 or another same model you already have (if only one more is enough...)

Get another GT-AX11000 Pro and hope for the best. If it doesn't work well and your wife starts complaining about Internet - tell her this is all you can do with the imposed limitations. Also tell your wife the electromagnetic radiation emitted by wireless mesh system is quite high, effectively double - backhaul plus fronthaul radios transmit the same information twice. May on may not be harmful to living organisms, but sounds like pretty serious matter. Some say it leads to sleep issues, obesity, mood swings, perhaps even domestic violence. 🧐

All of the above models and GT-AX11000 pro are strangely out of stock everywhere in my country.
I’m looking at the Asus BT10 2 pk. A bit pricey but not much more than 2 AX11000 pro.
Is the BT10 any good for my use case? I’ll retire the AX11000 pro.
