Merlin + Entware On RT-AC87U

What about Optware? Since the Asus Download Manager is based on it, I assume it would work. It seems like most Optware packages are old though, so could I recompile the new versions of things like Transmission for ARM and manage them through Optware on the RT-AC68?
 
Optware is supported. Asus uses the Bluewave repo for ARM devices.
