Mikrotik CRS finally gets STP in latest update

System Error Message

Part of the Furniture
Just a note that mikrotik CRS switches have finally gotten STP on the switch level in their latest update and an update to their routerOS STP as well to work with vlans. This just means that you can consider their switches too and the update is extended to atheros based switches on routerboards.

Now the only 2 things lacking from mikrotik switches are LACP and improved layer 3 learning. The CRS is a true layer 3 switch that can switch based on IPs but arent entirely reliable such that if you move your router to another port all devices connected to switch lose internet connectivity if you select IP based switching.

The mikrotik CRS is a true layer 3 switch as the switch chip can switch using IP instead of mac but you can select 2 different criteria to switch from a few other than just mac and IP. Now with STP it can be considered for a fully managed switch but lack of LACP is a disadvantage.
