miniupnpd[4797]: Failed to add NAT-PMP

I am having issues with my Plex server, there is an upnp on it that should open the port, but randomly after the server restart I see below in the log:

miniupnpd[4797]: Failed to add NAT-PMP 14682 tcp->192.168.50.158:32400 'NAT-PMP 14682 tcp'

There are no other issues etc. the best solution is to restart router. I doubt that serer restart helps.

Is there anything I can do with it except static port forward which I applied now? I will add that all other upnp apps from the server and other network devices do work well.

Always had issues with Plex remote access. Only way it seemed to work was using the manual public port option in Plex then creating a creating a specific port forwarding entry on the router for that manual port to point at the Plex server IP address.

Ah yes, the classic UPnP roulette—where your router plays bouncer and randomly forgets who’s on the guest list. Since other UPnP apps behave and the issue only crops up after a server reboot, your Plex server might be sending its NAT-PMP request before the network stack is fully up.

You can either:

1) Script a delay or retry for Plex on boot,

2) Stick with static port forwarding like a civilized adult,

Or
3) keep playing reboot bingo.

Good luck playing systemadmin.

Thanks I just forwarded the port manually and all seems to work fine.
