1st of all i'm 14.the problem, i have a pc running windows xp sp2. 1 ethernet port, and i have a wireless router, usb broadband modem. when i tried to setup my router it asked for an internet connection and a lan over ethernet but i have only 1 ethernet port. Help, my router cant work without either.

What do you mean "it" ("it asked for").
Didn't your router come with setup instructions?

If your modem comes with an ethernet port, drop the USB and cable the router to the modem via ethernet, and your PC to your router via ethernet as well.

If it is USB only, you'll have to set up Internet Connection sharing on your PC and use the router as a switch. If I were you in this instance, I'd be asking the ISP to swap for a modem that isn't crap.

yeah the setup wizard's useless
