Turris MOX was able to raise the target goal of $250,000. So they will produce the modular router - Turris MOX. They have decided to increase SD card capacity in all MOX sets from 4GB to 8GB as an expression of their gratitude!

There are some more ideas and also some companies asked for extra time, therefore the team decided to extend this campaign until May 31.

The first new addition is MOX G module (Super Extension). This module with one mPCIe slot will allow you to have more mPCIe cards in one set or to combine it with MOX F (USB). You can order it either boxed or unboxed.

Also, they introduced a new stretch goal: All sets with WiFi will get Bluetooth for free if they raise $350,000.

Do you want to build your own MOX? Try the MOX configurator.

Latest update to the router choices: Simply replace "B" with "G" in your MOX set
As many of you are asking us for the possibility of replacing the MOX B (Extension) with MOX G (Super Extension) module in existing MOX sets, we have prepared a new +Extension Upgrade perk, which will allow it. This perk is intended for those of you who have already purchased MOX: Classic or MOX: Power Wi-Fi sets.

To be honest - this is turning into a bit of a mess - neat idea, but implementation is a bear here... and the bear's name is QA.

From a SW perspective - this is turning into a QA Quagmire - how many different combo's the QA team has to evaluate and ensure it works...

Part of the problem is the Marvell SoC - it only has so much BW to start with - and again, the cost of developing and building each module is sort of fixed - so they should selectively reduce what options are available.

Playing around with their configurator - this looks like the ne plus ultra...

The 3720 doesn't have the horsepower to get that done...

I was also wondering about the CPU power to handle all the options, especially the additional four USB 3.0 ports - but they claim that a separate USB controller is added to handle the four USB 3.0 ports in Option F - still: handling additional 2 (or more) USB disks with the small CPU could be an overkill.

My current order is build of the modules AGBE which gives me 2 mPCIe (one for build-in WLAN and the other one for an internal SSD) and with Option E I have already an 8 ports LAN switch, that can be enhance with additional 16 ports (2x additional Option E) and a SFP port in case I get Gbit fiber WAN in future.

For my needs it is a really good set of options - for a decent price (during the campaign).

Of course the things have to be proven to work smoothly and there is a risk with such a startup approach that it will take time or even not be completed at all.

Update from the Turris MOX team:

"Together you managed to reach the 350K stretch goal which means that all Wi-Fi sets (or sets with +Wi-Fi Upgrade) will get extra hardware feature: Bluetooth connectivity.

Now, only the last few hours remain in the Turris MOX campaign, and you still have an opportunity to get your MOX under very favorable conditions.

Tomorrow, the campaign will enter the InDemand mode with on average 15% increased prices (MOX: Start - $60, MOX: Power Wi-Fi - $170, MOX: Classic - $200, etc.)

Take the last chance to get MOX for unrepeatable campaign prices."

Latest news from the build process from Turris MOX team:

"New prototypes: Modules C and E

today we have for you another set of news from the production of our modular router Turris MOX. Firstly, new slightly modified prototype of the Module C came to our office. This should be the final design.
